Thurs. May 2, 2013 - Camp Host Orientation

Today we had camp host orientation in the morning to meet our co-workers and Ranger Travis.

Me and one spouse missing - 4 host couples plus Ranger Travis
Learning about beach clean-up efforts:  what to bring in and what to leave:

Here is a large piece of tab and groove (no nails) Japanese construction
- leave the small stuff as driftwood
Don't bring in hazardous waste containers -
notify park rangers who will call authorities to dispose of properly.

Today's assignment was 6 yurts, but by the time we got to #6, the incoming guest had sneaked in, saying it was clean enough ( they almost always are, we just disinfect and inspect while cleaning ) so ended up dining 5 yurts.  All 13 were occupied by a school group tonight so there were dozens of 8 and 9 year olds with their parents running around

The weather is terrific for what we remember about Oregon so we grilled the last pork chop from Sundays farmersarket to iget and had  garlic mashed potatoes and asparagus. Yummy!
