Sat. May 4, 2013 - major beach walk

Today was beautiful.  Warm and sunny all day.    We went out for breakfast as is our custom on Saturday morning, but today we were in Oregon and ate at the Schooner in Netarts.  Beautiful view of Cape Lookout behind Netarts Bay, but not the greatest breakfast.

We worked the rest of the AM at home, waiting for the tide to be just right for us to start out on a six mile round trip up the beach from the park to the end of the spit of land that closes in Netarts Bay from the ocean.  We left at 1:30, low tide was 4:00, and we were gone for 5 hours total, walking barefoot on the hard packed beach.  VERY sore feet by the time we returned.
Preparing to drop the shoes on the very wide and growing wider beach.
Standing on sandbar out in ocean as tide recedes.  See the green dune grass on the beach in front of the mountain in distance?  We are 1/4 of the way there.
More interesting debris from Japan.  Buoy top with algae growing on it.
And more tab and groove construction lumber like Travis showed us Thursday - this one is an individual, so it is not driftwood - we saw lots of these
