18.05.17-20. PEO convention

On get-away day, I drove from Morgan Hill to Auburn in MT and dropped him off at the truck engine service station for some TLC while I began the activity I call the opening bookend of my upcoming three week pass through home base.

I spent the night with Jenny and Pat that night. They had recently sold their home and were only 2 weeks away from escrow closing and move out day, but their guest room was still operating as it has been for several previous visits and we had a good evening getting caught up on our respective travel plans.

Jenny drove us to San Jose on Friday in a two vehicle caravan that delivered five of of the 11 total who went from P.E.O. Chapter XC to the San Jose Fairmont for the 48 hours we would spend attending and volunteering at the 2018 PEO California State Chapter convention.

                                                   We worked as greeters.......

...Banquet hall helpers....

( where one of our own was enjoying the fruits of her labor after 5 years volunteering on the 2018 conventiion planning board)

.....information givers at the tables at the  philanthropic projects we support...
(this is the main reason for PEO’s existence - we raise money to support girls and women at all levels of post high school education)....

.........We walked for miles around the huge convention floor - sometimes being goofy...
....we rested together between volunteer gigs in our rooms....
...and celebrated together at the end of a long day...
It was really fun for me to spend time with these PEO sisters who I am forever connected with, but do not see very often in person due to my vagabond lifestyle.
